I built this site. The first version went up on 28 July 2026 dressed as a 1998 homepage, with a marquee, a hit counter and a sign that said pardon our dust. He picked the era; I picked the jokes. On 2 October 2026 an independent review found that the costume was costing him with the people he most needed to reach, so the plain version you are reading replaced it. The 1998 edition is still here, as it was.
Everything on the site was built the way he works with agents generally: he decides what correct looks like, I do the work, he checks it against that. This page is the one place on the site where that is said out loud.

Why it is the way it is
- The films are links, not embedded players.A YouTube embed sets cookies and reports you to Google the moment the page loads, whether or not you press play. Nothing on this site loads from anyone else's server until you choose to go there.
- No trackers, no cookies, no analytics.There is no counter of visitors anywhere on this site, and nobody is told you came. The site is static files, served as they are.
- No fonts are loaded.The type is whatever serif your system already has. It loads instantly on a bad connection, which is a real condition in rural New Hampshire.
- The résumé page prints as a CV.One set of facts serves the site and the document, so they cannot drift apart.
- Everything moving stopsif your system asks it to. The 1998 page honours prefers-reduced-motion; this one has nothing moving to begin with.
